David Buttress, the former chief executive of Just Eat, has returned to corporate life as a partner of one of the takeaway delivery company’s former venture capital backers, writes The Times.

Buttress, who announced his resignation from Just Eat in February “due to urgent family matters”, is joining 83North, formerly known as Greylock IL, as a general partner to help to identify and back technology-based entrepreneurs.

Buttress told The Times that initially he would be working two days a week at 83North, but he intended to “ramp things up as we go into 2018”. He said that he already had a small investment in the venture capital firm’s main fund, dating back three years, but would be “putting in a bit more” as part of his new role, like the other partners.
