James Bulmer, managing partner of investment fund and son of former Michelin Guide editor Derek Bulmer, has become the new chief executive of the Fat Duck Group, the Heston Blumenthal-led company, MCA understands.

The group includes the Fat Duck in Bray, Dinner in London and the Perfectionists’ Café in Heathrow’s Terminal 2.

Blumenthal recently secured a site in Dubai’s Royal Atlantis Resort and Residences to launch the third iteration of his Dinner restaurant.

Opening in 2019, the restaurant will be the third Dinner site in the chef’s portfolio, alongside his London and Melbourne outposts. The original London restaurant was awarded two Michelin stars in 2012.

Bulmer is also the founder of Wonderland Restaurants, a specialist retail and food & beverage operator that is focused on building its portfolio of restaurants that are immersive, multi sensory dining experiences.
