Boxpark has appointed Simon Bishop as property director to drive the company’s development plans over the next five years.
Bishop has over 25 years’ experience in leisure acquisitions and has delivered sites in both the UK and Europe for brands including Peach Pub Company, Scottish and Newcastle Retail, City Inn Hotels and more.
He is joining the business from a position as head of acquisitions at Wells & Co, where he focused on acquiring new pubs and hotels for the managed pubs business and tenancies.
Before lockdown, Boxpark announced plans to open 10 new sites over the next five years in major cities, and Bishop will be responsible for sourcing potential sites for Boxpark’s original concept, as well as two new concepts: Boxoffice – designed to incorporate co-working spaces into new sites – and Boxhall – 10,000 to 20,000 sq ft F+B-focused sites to feature between 6-12 street food traders.
“I believe opportunities arise from every situation, and we are delighted to bring Simon on board to identify the best options for our new site concepts, so that we can continue to deliver fantastic sites and experiences,” said Boxpark CEO Roger Wade.
“We are more focused than ever on our growth strategy and we think Simon holds the perfect skill set and experience to help us reach our ambitions.”
