The Big Table Group has appointed Johanna Selin as head of new concept development.

Selin was previously head of programmes, Hospitality, for Marks & Spencer, where her responsibilities included inaugurating new cafes, creating new food offers, and planning redevelopment programs across the existing estate.

Prior to M&S, Selin worked as program director – growth for Wagamama, where she oversaw the rollout of grab-and-go initiative Mamago.

She has also worked as an ecommerce consultant for Coco di Mama.

Selin began her career and spent 17 years at Pret a Manger, where she worked in various roles including head of operations and group head of ecommerce.

The appointment comes as The Big Table Group announced it had acquired The Restaurant Group’s Leisure business earlier this week.

Big Table CEO Alan Morgan told MCA the group sees opportunity to drive strong improvements and synergies in multiple areas including supply chain, overheads, and culture.

“In time, as always, we will review all the properties to understand best fit across the portfolio to make sure we have the right offering to suit each location,” he said.
