Bill’s, the Richard Caring-backed restaurant chain, has appointed Colin Berry, formerly of Prezzo, as its new finance director, MCA has learnt.
Berry, who spent over two and a half years as group financial controller at Prezzo, joins Bill’s to replace Greg Hinchliffe, who is leaving the company to join Caravan, as its new finance director.
Berry previously spent 11 years at Tesco, including over two years as head of finance for its hospitality division.
Duncan Garrood, Bill’s chief executive, told MCA: “Greg has done a superb job over many years at Bill’s and took the decision several months ago to look for a fresh opportunity. Whilst we will miss him at Bill’s, we are really happy for Greg as he joins a great up and coming business and thank him for everything he’s done for Bill’s and we wish him every success and happiness. We’re also delighted to welcome Colin to the team who brings fantastic experience from both Tesco and Prezzo and is already making a great impact at Bill’s.”
Last month, MCA reported that Catherine Salloux was to leave her role as marketing director at Bill’s.
Salloux joined the company in January 2016 from Interstellar Marketing. She had previously spent five years as marketing director at ASK.
MCA understands that a search is underway for a replacement but no appointment has yet been made.
The group announced it was entering a “new phase of development and expansion across the country” at the start of this year, with the appointment of Garrood as chief executive.
