Graham Ford, formerly of Carluccio’s and Bill’s, has joined Bababoom as interim MD, MCA understands.

The casual dining kebab restaurant concept has been led by co-founder Eve Bugler as MD since it was launched in 2016.

Ford was most recently commercial director at Carluccio’s, and before that chief operating officer at Bill’s.

He has also been CEO of Benito’s Hat, and an operations director at Tragus Group.

Bababoom raised more than £1m in a crowdfunding round with Seedrs which closed at the tail end of 2019.

Bugler, who is the majority shareholder, told MCA of plans to expand into central areas before the pandemic hit.

Investors include former Gourmet Burger Kitchen COO Keith Bird, and Be At One co-founder Rhys Oldfield.

Ex-Nando’s CEO David Niven was among of the original tranche of backers, alongside Wahaca’s Mark Selby, Eren Ali of Las Iguanas and Oakman Inns’ Peter Borg-Neal.
