KFC has said that as of last week, it has reopened 700 of its 950 stores in the UK and Ireland.

As well as delivery and drive-thru, over half of the estate is now also open for takeaway, having implemented a series of measures to ensure the safety of staff and customers.

The business is offering a limited menu, Perspex screens have been installed and teams will be expected to wear gloves and masks as required.

“We know it’s all pretty different from normal, but thank you for understanding and for helping out teams by following the new measures,” read a statement on the brand’s social media.

“Ultimately, wellbeing of out guests and teams remains the most important thing – so if we can’t reopen a restaurant responsibly, we won’t.”
