YO! Sushi, the Robin Rowland-led group, is to strengthen its presence in London, with the opening of four new sites in the capital this summer.

The Quilvest-backed company, which opened in Kingston before the end of last year, will open at Baker Street tube station, High Street Kensington, Richmond and Heathrow T2 across May and June.

All the locations have been handpicked for their prime locations garnering high footfall. The new restaurant at Baker Street tube station, for instance, will benefit from 27 million people passing through the station each year.

The restaurant group plans to open a further five restaurants across the country, creating 250 new jobs.

Vanessa Hall, chief operating officer of YO! Sushi, said: “YO! Sushi opened its doors in London’s Soho for the first time in 1997 and with over 17 years’ experience of bringing sushi to the masses we’re excited to increase our offering in the hustle and bustle of one of the most competitive dining markets on the planet.

“London presents YO! Sushi with a wealth of opportunities, as there is huge demand for our unique, fun and casual kaiten dining experience. With 30 out of 76 UK restaurants inside the M25, YO! Sushi is really setting the pace as it continues to evolve alongside the capital city.”

The group, which was recently voted the UK’s most trusted restaurant brand, currently operates 67 UK sites and 11 international restaurants

YO! Sushi UK serves 120,000 guests per week or six million per annum, with average spend per head at £15.
