West Cornwall Pasty Co, the Cornish pasty chain, is to sell frozen pasties at all of its 71 sites so that customers can take them away to bake at home.
The initiative follows consumer research and will feature a range of 20 pasties, including traditional steak and other options like pork and apple and chicken balti.
Richard Nieto, chief executive of the chain which launched in 1998, said: “For some time now we have been inundated with customers asking for frozen pasties to take away and bake at home, so we’re delighted this is now possible.”
The company has previously announced plans to reach 100 sites by 2012.
