Wasabi, the London-based sushi and bento chain led by Dong Hyun Kim, has opened its first international outlet in the US, in New York.
As revealed by M&C Report in August 2012, the group, which currently operates 38 sites in the UK, has taken a 3,400sq ft site in Seventh Avenue for what will be its flagship US outlet.
It is thought the new site will be the first of a number of units the group will look to open in the Manhattan area of the city over the next two years.
The company, which was founded in 2003, recently increased its presence outside London with the opening of two sites in Leeds.
A further site in the redeveloped Lakeside food court is due to open this June.
