Adrian Saunders, formerly of The Restaurant Group (TRG), has joined Wagamama, the the pan-Asian casual restaurant chain, as its new head of acquisitions. Saunders spent over five years as senior acquisitions manager at TRG, covering the north region and acquired over 50 restaurants whilst also building future pipeline for the Frankie & Benny’s operator.
Wagamama, which is currently seeking a new chief executive, opened its 94th site in the UK last month in Plymouth’s Royal William Yard.
The chain is also thought to be eyeing openings in Chichester, Hammersmith, York and Derby Westfield for later this year.
The group, which is backed by Duke Street Capital, plans to open 15-20 sites in total in the next 12 months across the UK.
