Star Pubs & Bars, the leased pub division of Heineken UK, is trialling a mobile ordering app at 40 of its sites during April before a potential roll out.
The Orderella app allows customers to order and pay for drinks and food via their phone; their order is then delivered to their table, or they can receive a message when their drinks are ready and collect them from the bar.
Payments are made through Orderella’s payment provider, Paythru, and the app is said to speed up transaction times by up to 90 seconds compared to a card transaction.
If the trial is successful, Orderella could soon be in place in 1,200 of Star Pubs & Bars’ venues.
