Staff shortages could lead to menu price rises

Wage inflation of “5% to 10%” could lead to menu price increases, Jonathan Goldstein, CEO of Prezzo owner of Cain International has told The Times. He said that vocational training and allowing in foreign workers who want to work in hospitality is needed to resolve staff shortages. Four of the biggest restaurant chains – including Prezzo – are said to have around 15% of posts currently unfilled, with Hawksmoor similarly affected.
