Soup Works has bought Capitanio Bros from the liquidator for a nominal sum. Capitanio supplies quality restaurants, airline caterers and sandwich bar chains with fresh pasta-based products.
The acquisition will help the London-based fast soup chain expand its wholesale activities, which supply several Caffe Nero units. It will also provide a central kitchen for Soup Works' restaurants. The new central kitchen will be renamed Freshworks. It will supply Soup Works with a complimentary pasta range to help sales in the quieter summer months.
Soup Works also hopes to supply its soups and pasta to other retail and catering organisations.
