Mill House Inns, the 58-outlet managed pub chains, has a new chief executive, Ted Kennedy, ex-MD of Whitbread's former Pubs Inn-Line division, and a leaner look.
The company's chairman, Philip Snook, who acquired Mill House Inns for £40m in August 2000, is now a non-executive director, and the former MD, Keith Henesey, has departed.
Kennedy said the company had streamlined its operations: "We had to make the company leaner. We have stripped out all the middle management and contracted out everything except finance and operations."
Snook was one of the founders of the Magic Pub Company, where he helped develop the Hungry Horse brand, acquired Mill House Inns for £40m in August 2000.
Mill House Inns, which is backed by the venture capital company Phoenix Equity Partners, plans to grow to 150 pubs over the next three years.
