Sceptre Leisure, the quoting gaming machines group, has concluded the sale of its fixed odds betting terminal (FOBT) business in order to focus on its pubs machines business. The FOBT, comprising 751 terminals, was sold for £3.75m cash, against a book value of £2.8m. Ken Turner, chief executive of Sceptre, said: “This sale of a non-core part of our business is at a significant profit. Its disposal frees up considerable capital and resources across the business to focus on the rollout of machines to our traditional markets in pubs and other leisure outlets where we continue to see strong demand.”
