Sam Kaye, co-founder of the Ask business, has become joint chief executive of Tasty, the AIM-listed operator of the Dim T and Wildwood chains. Kaye joins current chief executive Jonny Plant at the head of the 20-strong group in a move, which underlines his commitment to the business that is set to open up to eight sites under its core Wildwood brand this year. Last April, he became the largest shareholder in Tasty. Kaye, who founded Ask with his brother Adam, is also a shareholder in his cousin Jonathan’s Prezzo business and the Richoux Group. Last month, Tasty agreed a new £2.5m, three-year revolving bank facility, which will be used to aid the further expansion of the fast-growing group. It currently operates 14 sites under Wildwood brand, after recently converting the Pasta Brown in Bow Street, Covent Garden. The company, which also operates six sites under the Dim T brand, is keen to add further units in the “more robust” London market and in and around the M25 before the end of the year and is thought to be already in negotiations on a couple of outlets The former Café Pasta sites it acquired last year in Stratford-upon-Avon and Shaftesbury Avenue are also set to come online later this year under the format.
