S Group has secured new sites for both its Pizaza and Soyo kosher concepts, in Edgware, MCA has learnt.

Pizaza – a casual dining pizza business – is to open a third site, at 311 Hale Lane, while healthy Mediterranean restaurant Soyo will open a second site at 307 Hale Lane. Both are due to open late September.

Nicola Wilson, head of marketing at S Group, told MCA that the new Pizaza would also feature a new look and feel, including a new colour scheme, which would then be rolled-out to its existing sites in Hendon and Golders Green around the same time as the new site launches.

“The new look has a real Miami meets Shoreditch vibe, with palm tree wallpaper and bold colours such as fuchsia, turquoise and oranges,” said Wilson. The existing two sites have been open for 10 years and so the group felt it was time for a fresh and contemporary look, she explained.

The site will house a party and karaoke room at the back of the restaurant – a first for Pizaza, while the tables will feature touchscreen tablets for ordering. “We are trying to make that transition from making it really family during the day, to the evening, making it a bit more grown up and somewhere you can grab a beer and a pizza,” she said.

“The menu has some exciting new additions but remains true to its three heroes – pizza, fries and shakes,” added Wilson.

The Group is also developing a Suduch-style sandwich concept, which is set to launch in Golders Green in November/December this year.

Earlier this year it opened a hybrid site for its Pizaza and Soyo brands in Borehamwood, called Pizoyo. S Group’s other concepts include Delicatessen, which opened in Hampstead in December last year, in partnership with ex-head chef at Ottolenghi Group, Or Golan.
