The Reindeer, a pop-up concept restaurant and theatre, will open in the Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane just for the Christmas period. The combined eating and entertainment venue is financially backed and operated by Roxyco, which also owns Bistrotheque, the restaurant and cabaret venue in Hackney. The 250-cover restaurant and 400-seat theatre, which will be housed in 22,500 sq ft of the industrial building, will be built by the creative production company Blonstein & Associates in seven days. Reindeer will only open for 23 days and the theatre will put on two plays per night. The restaurant will serve a French-style menu. Pablo Flack, director, said: “We are not interested in duplicating the Bistrotheque chain, but are planning to open a similar pop-up restaurant and theatre in the US in December 2007.”
