Jim Glover, the former managing director of Benskins, the 800-strong tenanted and managed pubs operator, has joined Regent Inns as a non-executive director. Glover held a range of senior positions at Allied Domecq, in addition to that of managing director of Benskins, and was most recently chief executive of Patientline, a leading provider of bedside communications systems for hospital patients. Glover left Patientline to ‘pursue opportunities in the private equity market’. Benskins was sold to Punch Taverns in 1999, after Glover left the group. Bob Ivell, the executive chairman of Regent, said: "We are delighted to welcome Jim to the Regent Board. He has extensive experience in the retail and drinks sector and a significant track record of working with companies going through a period of transformation, particularly in the leisure and retail sectors."
