Prezzo, the Jonathan Kaye-led group, is believed to be lining up a conversion of the Brasserie Gerard site in Billericay, Essex, for its latest Cleaver opening.
The group is currently looking at opportunities further openings under its fledgling Cleaver brand after the success of the initial four sites under the new the new format.
It is thought it will go on site at the site in Billericay’s high street this month.
Kaye told M&C Report last year that he could see the group opening more in 2014 and that he would like to secure a central London site for the format.
It is thought that the company, which opened its fourth and largest Cleaver so far in December in Oxford, has run the rule over the Union Jacks site in Central St Giles.
The first Cleaver opened in Cobham, Surrey, in June, with further openings following in Wokingham and Leatherhead.
As revealed by M&C Report in April, the concept, which specialises in burgers, chicken and ribs, is being overseen by Scott Charlesworth, the former managing director of Caffe Uno.
