Whitbread, the hospitality group, has announced it is to introduce a concierge with a difference at its Premier Inn chain of budget hotels. The company is trialling a service via the social media network Twitter. Guests with queries or concerns must simply “tweet” a message to @PremierInn #concierge. A member of staff is being tasked to deal with the online questions. The weekend Twitter concierge service will initially run as a trial for one month on Friday evenings in October with a view to extending it if its proved of value to guests.
