Pong, the digital beer pong concept set to launch in Kings Cross, is looking to expand to Birmingham and Manchester next year after establishing itself in London, MCA has learnt.

The London franchise of the Hong Kong founded concept, which includes a premium cocktail offering, is being launched by franchise owner Jiaming Xu, on Pentonville Road in September.

Denis Lee, deputy operations director of the global group, is assisting with the launch in London, having operated F&B outlets in the UK, Singapore, China and Hong Kong.

The concept is also set to launch in Jakarta, Bangkok, Milan and New York.

Anothai Sisouphanh, who is operating the London site, told MCA: “Out target market is students. Our bread and better will be locals, corporates, people doing team-building activities. Anyone above the age of 21. Its digital, it’s very interactive, it’s fun - it’s a different concept.

“Only Bounce are really doing beer pong, but they have haven’t got digital tables.”

The upscale experiential concept, which owns the rights to PongConnect technology, has two sites in Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan.

The Singapore club, which opened last week, is styled like a Las Vegas casino or VIP club, with prominent DJs, a theatrical light show and customers huddled around games tables, with the London club is set to specialise in cocktails and Champagne.

The concept was founded by Ronald Chiu and David So, who own the Hong Kong ad Taiwan sites, but are expanding under a franchise model.
