Pitt Cue Co, the American-style BBQ pop-up, will open its first standalone site in London’s Soho in January.

The concept, which previously operated from a patch under the Hungerford Bridge, is understood to have secured a site near the Carnaby Street area.

A new company Pitt Cue (Soho) Ltd has been set up by founders Simon Anderson and Tom Adams to launch the site.

Anderson is previously co-owned the Albion gastropub in Islington with chef Richard Turner.

Pitt Cue Co’s BBQ offer has been described as being better than that found at Jamie Oliver’s Barbecoa.

The opening of a standalone Pitt Cue Co follows on from the team behind popular pop up concept Meateasy opening their first standalone site, Meat Liquor, last month in London’s Marylebone. The team led by Yianni Papoutsis is planning further openings in Covent Garden and Shoreditch.

Davis Coffer Lyons acted on the deal.
