Ping Pong, the London-based dim sum chain led by Art Sagiryan, has confirmed to M&C Report plans to spend £500,000 on its next opening in London’s Westfield Stratford centre.

It’s the first Ping Pong to open at a Westfield site. The restaurant, which draws on modern influences and styles from the 1930s, includes a tea bar and a dim sum counter that’s been brought forward.

Ping Pong is targeting an average spend of £16 per head and expects there to be 2,000 covers per week. The site is due to open in early March.

Sagiryan said: “As a buzzing fashion and style hub, Westfield Stratford is an ideal place for Ping Pong to open and the new location marks our growth outside of central London as we look to further expand our estate next year. The opening will kick off an exciting year following positive like-for-like sales results to end 2013. We look forward to welcoming shoppers to the new restaurant.”

Davis Coffer Lyons acted on the deal.

Last year Ping Pong re-focused its efforts on expanding its estate in the UK after the international-led growth strategy previously put in place by former chief executive Paul Sarlas.

Ping Pong opened the first site with a new design at Wembley’s Designer Outlet in mid-December.
