Powder Train, the independent pub company, is to open its fourth joint venture with high-profile chef Marco Pierre White under the Wheeler’s brand. The joint venture is to open a Wheeler’s at the Casa Hotel near Camberley, Surrey next month. Last year, the group re-opened Chequers at Maresfield near Uckfield, under the Wheeler’s brand following a £150,000 refurbishment. It followed this with the re-opening The Kings Arms, in Henley Common, near Fernhurst, West Sussex, as "Wheeler's of St James's at the Kings Arms". The brand is a collaboration between White and hotelier Paul Clark, built around London fish restaurant Wheeler's. The two teamed up with Powder Train, formed by former Gale's executives David Butcher and Jack Bowyer, to roll out the Wheelers concept to pubs. White launched the original Wheeler’s of St James’s, London, in 2009.
