Celebrated London restaurant The River Café will launch a new space next door, serving a pared-down all-day menu. The Café Café offering will include items like seasonal veg, prosciutto and mozzarella, and River Café desserts, along with pastries, ice cream, and coffee to take away.

In the evening, the new space will offer aperitivos, non-alcoholic cocktails, and wine served with homemade crisps and Italian olives.

Shoryu Ramen, Westfield Stratford

Shoryu will open its 12th location in London’s Westfield Stratford City this July. The ramen specialist will occupy a 79m² area in the shopping centre’s food court, with the offer include classics such as the tonkotsu ramen.

Shoryu will also offer its new curry menu, featuring katsu curry and pumpkin croquette curry among other options. A selection of sides and drinks such as matcha mocktails, yuzu jasmine tea, Japanese beers, seaweed salad, and takoyaki will also be on offer, along with a kids set menu priced at £7.90.

Humble Crumble, Covent Garden

Artisan dessert concept Humble Crumble is set to open its first dedicated space in London’s Seven Dials Warehouse as part of plans to expand across London. The site will add to existing venues across the capital in Camden Market, Borough Market, and Spitalfields.

The concept aims to deliver a unique dessert offer, with flavours such as apple & cinnamon, mixed berry, and rhubarb, raspberry & orange.

Caribbean restaurant group Cottons has announced a new venture, an artisan cocktail bar opening next month on London’s Old Street. Sip N Tell will offer a twist on the tiki bar experience, providing classic drinks with unique flavours like pink guava, makrut lime leaf, cinchona bark, coconut cream, and white chocolate.

The menu champions homegrown brands alongside local spirits, with a concise selection of English sparkling wines.

Mr Porter, Mayfair


The Entourage Group will bring its fine dining concept to London’s Park Lane Hilton Hotel this September. Mr Porter Steakhouse, Bar & Lounge will offer a modern steakhouse concept with the buzz of a lounge, along with Aberdeen Scottish beef, a central bar and wine library, slow-cooked lamb, and plant-based options like roasted aubergine and the mushroom carpaccio.

The new venue will join Mr Porter restaurants in Amsterdam, Barcelona, and Ibiza.

Bootlegger Vault, Richmond

The Richmond Vault, a basement pub and restaurant on London’s Richmond High Street, has been taken over by Bootlegger Bars, a five-strong bar operator. The new ownership has seen the venue rebranded and reopened as Bootlegger Vault, a speakeasy-inspired space offering an elevated food and cocktail menu along with live music.

The space celebrates the history and cultural significance of the speakeasy era, and joins Bootlegger Bars venues in Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Brighton, and Leeds.

Bear, Wimborne

Independent coffee and lifestyle brand Bear will open its eighth site, a coffee house, kitchen, and bar, on Wimborne’s High Street in East Dorset later this year. Founder Craig Bunting said the South Coast felt like “the most natural and exciting next step” for the brand, in partnership with its newest investors, Poole-based family office Clark Group.

Originating from the Midlands, the business offers sustainably sourced specialty coffee, seasonal fresh food, cocktails, and craft beer in thoughtfully designed spaces.

Burger & Sauce, Liverpool

Fast food chain Burger & Sauce will open its 15th site in Liverpool Central Station on 12 July. The concept offers beef, chicken, or vegetarian burgers paired with signature homemade sauces.

Burger & Sauce plans to reach 20 stores by the end of the year and 50 nationwide by the end of 2025.
