Young’s, Tattenham Corner
Young’s has acquired Tattenham Corner, in Epsom Downs, Surrey, from Whitbread.
Formerly a Beefeater, the acquisition will be Young’s first site in the area, joining its collection of premium pubs in Surrey, including The Bear in Oxshott and Chequers at Walton on the Hill.
Overlooking Epsom racecourse, the two-storey, 8,000sq ft, 220-cover freehold pub has an expansive garden.
It has closed with immediate effect to undergo a significant refurbishment to reinstate the venue as a proper community pub complete with beer garden.
Joining the 232-strong Young’s Pub portfolio, Tattenham Corner follows the recent acquisition of The Crooked Billet in Clapton, along with four out-of-London sites acquired from Marston’s.
Sides, Manchester
The chicken restaurant created by the YouTube group, The Sidemen, will open its first outlet in Manchester.
The brand has taken on a 1,222 sq ft unit at Manchester Arndale on a 10-year lease.
It joins established outlets at BoxPark in Wembley and Croydon, representing a significant step in the brand’s journey as it continues to grow its presence beyond the London market.
King Pins, Manchester
Manchester Arndale will be the bowling concepts second Greater Manchester and first city centre location, alongside a venue in Trafford Palazzo.
The brand will take on a 30,000 sq ft unit, previously home to the former Sports Direct store.
King Pins features a range of activities suitable for both children and adults including curling, shuffleboard, batting cages, karaoke, ten-pin bowling, alongside the brand’s premium food and drink offering.
Phat Buns, Bayswater
The burger brand will open its first restaurant in the capital next month, marking the brand’s 11th restaurant.
It will be taking over the former TinselTown site on Westbourne Grove.
Serving a halal menu that includes a range of burgers, bao buns, wings and boneless tenders, and hot dogs, Phat Buns currently operates sites in Nottingham, Loughborough, Birmingham, Leicester, Sheffield, Derby, and Coventry.
The Wellington Arms, Marlborough
Max Halley and the Chickpea Group’s Ethan Davids are opening a third pub together later this month.
The Wellington Arms, in the market town of Marlborough in Wiltshire is set to launch on 24 of November.,
The grade II listed building is currently under renovation and will feature an an l-shaped bar and a small fireplace with seating spread across three separate areas.
Itsu, Bishopsgate
Itsu has opened its 77th site, just outside London’s Liverpool Street station.
Serving the new steamed big’bao, gyoza and sweet bao, the new restauarant features an all pink exposed ceiling, and seating area.
Linden Stores, Knutsford
Restaurant, wine bar and shop Linden Stores will open in its third site later this month.
Located in Knutsford, it will showcase seasonal food and low intervention wines from small-scale winemakers.
The 40-cover restaurant will make use of foraged ingredients and British produce with the sharing menu to include Mackerel, fennel and Cinderwood market garden bitter leaves with apple; and Cheshire game bird, turnips and leaves, wild mushrooms and quince.
