New World Trading Company, the Tim Bacon and Jeremy Roberts-led pub group, is on target to add five more sites to its estate this year.

Work is already underway on the former Living Room site in Chester for an opening in early April.

Bacon told M&C Report that this will be closely followed by another opening in Manchester – an existing pub which will be converted to the New World format – and then openings in Birmingham, Glasgow and London, which are all new-builds.

The group is believed to have applied to operate a site under its The Botanist format in Cheltenham House in Birmingham’s Temple Street

Bacon added: “We’ve already got another Manchester site, another Birmingham site and another London site lined up for next year [for New World Pub Company].

“It’s still all in legals, but the two Manchester sites are in the final throes of legals. They’re all exciting, big, high-impact sites.”

Earlier this year, the Living Ventures and Hill Capital backed business, secured a new bank facility of £2.2m from Lloyds Banking Group to aid the growth of its four-strong pub estate.

It plans to grow from four sites to 15 or 20 sites over the next three years.
