Nobu, the upmarket Japanese restaurant operator, is understood to be planning to open its first hotel in Europe in London’s Shoreditch. According to Property Week, the 20-strong global restaurant group has struck an agreement with boutique hotel developer Meir Abutbul to build a 143-bedroom hotel opposite the Hoxton Hotel. Last year, the company, which will also open a restaurant at the hotel development, announced plans to move into the accommodation sector with the launch of its first hotel in Las Vegas. Caesars Palace Las Vegas and Nobu Hospitality announced that they plan to opened the 180-room Nobu Hotel, Restaurant and Lounge in the US city.
