Soseki, the high-end City restaurant run by sushi operator Moshi Moshi, has been put up for sale. The group, led by founder Caroline Bennett, has operated the 2,200 sq ft eaterie since 2008. Soseki’s menu is inspired by the Japanese concept of “kaiseki-kappo”, translated as “Japanese haute cuisine in the kitchen”, and ordering is done on the “omakase” principle; instead of a conventional itemised menu, the chefs create different dishes according to what ingredients are available on the day. The disposal, which is being handled by DCL, will leave the group with just two sites in London (Canary Wharf and Liverpool Street). It exited its Brighton Moshi Moshi last year. Bennett launched the business in 1994.
