FishWorks, the fishmonger and restaurant chain, has announced that Roy Morris has resigned from his role as executive chairman. The announcement comes just over a week after the company warned that its pre-tax profit for the year to 31 July 2007 would be below market expectations. The warning followed a wide-ranging review of its roll out plans, and the admission that some sites were underperforming. The group said that Nicholas Stanley and Anthony Fisher, who are already non-executive directors of the company, would assume specific responsibilities as joint non-executive chairmen with immediate effect. It said it would recruit a new chairman with suitable industry experience in due course. The company thanked Morris for his contribution in building the FishWork’s business over the last five years. It also said it was confident in the FishWork’s model and was focusing on delivering a high quality experience at its existing portfolio of 12 sites.
