Marston’s, the brewer and pub operator, has been commended for having the best website among FTSE All Share companies.

A quarterly website review by Sitemorse, the software programme, found that the company’s website scored an “almost unprecedented” 9.9 out of 10 in the Index, plus 10 out of 10 for accessibility, a rise of 21 places up the chart and almost a full point ahead of the next-ranked company, St.Modwen Properties PLC.

Websites were judged based on how well a website’s users will find it works, rather than for layout or design.

The survey took place on 17 May.
