Simon Midgley, operations director of Yorkshire-based pub company Market Town Taverns, is to succeed Ian Fozard as managing director at the firm at the end of the year. The company announced that Fozard had agreed to remain as managing director for at least 12 months when it was bought by Isle of Man-based Heron and Brearley for an undisclosed sum last October. Fozard is to remain as a non-executive director of Market Town. Founded by Fozard in 1999, Market Town Taverns operates 15 pubs across North and West Yorkshire. Heron & Brearley currently operates a managed estate of 48 pubs, 43 in the Isle of Man, four in the north west of England and one in Wales.
