The M&C20 Index climbed 0.9% this week, driven by growth from one of its smaller companies but underperformed the FTSE All Share Index, which was up by 1.5%, for the second week in a row.

Tasty, the Wildwood and Dim T operator, saw its share price rise 6%, whilst JD Wetherspoon (3.2%), Eclectic (2.7%), The Restaurant Group (TRG) (2.7%) and Cineworld (2.6%) also saw significant increases.

Of the rest of the top 10, the steepest decline was for Enterprise (-2.5%), followed by Prezzo (-0.7%), Domino’s and Spirit (both down 0.3%).

Surprisingly, Punch Taverns share price has remained relatively stable despite the postponed of the vote on its restructuring proposals.

The top six in terms of market capitalisation was led by Greene King, which was followed by Mitchells & Butlers, TRG, JDW, Marston’s and Domino’s, although Enterprise Inns has moved to just outside the top 6, £1m just behind Domino’s.
