Nick House and Piers Adam, the team behind the popular London late-night venues Mahiki and Whiskey Mist, are set to launch a new venture after acquiring the former Ruby Lo nightclub behind Selfridges. The team, which acquired the site on Orchard Street from the London Bar Company, will initially operate the venue as a pop-up nightclub under the Little Back Door name. The late night 5,000sq ft venue will eventually undergo a substantial refit, with the launch a new concept later in the year. House and Adam acquired a new 25-year lease on the property at a passing rent of £130,000 per annum. The lease was acquired for a substantial premium. Jonathan Moradoff of Davis Coffer Lyons, which acted on behalf the London Bar Company, said: “This was an off-market opportunity for a venue which will rival the most successful late-night operations in Mayfair. Properties of this nature are arguably the most sought-after in the sector and with the proven expertise of Nick House and Piers Adam, this will undoubtedly become a premier party destination in the capital.”
