Krispy Kreme, the doughnut retailer, has announced details of its next three openings as part of its five-year plan to double its presence in the UK. Krispy Kreme launches in Liverpool on the 15 April with a kiosk at the Liverpool ONE Shopping Centre. This will be followed by a launch in Cardiff on 19 April with a Coffee Bar in the St David’s Centre. And in July a new Hotlight Store at Centre 27 Retail Park, Birstall, Leeds. “The new store will deliver the unique doughnut theatre experience to customers where they can try Original Glazed doughnuts hot off the line,” the company said. “It will also serve as a hub for future stores in the Yorkshire region.” Krispy Kreme revealed that it received over 1,000 applications for the Liverpool ONE outlet alone. The three new stores will create over 100 jobs. Steven Madeley, centre director at St David’s, Cardiff, said: “Krispy Kreme was the most requested brand by shoppers since the centre opened, with visitors even joining social networking groups to campaign for its arrival in the city. With such phenomenal demand, the brand is set to be a huge success.” Krispy Kreme, which was launched in the UK in 2003, currently operates 45 stores across the country.
