The Kaye family has strengthened its position in Tasty, the AIM listed operator behind the Dim T chain of restaurants, following a £2m share placing. This morning the company, which is led by Jonny Plant, chief executive, said it had raised £2m before expenses via the issue of two million shares at 20p – a 7% discount to its closing price on June 8. Samuel Kaye, an executive director of the chain, that also operates Wildwood, a pizza restaurant concept, acquired a further 2,075,000 shares and Adam Kaye also bought 625,000 shares. The group also revealed that major shareholder Philip Kaye had subscribed to 1,000,000 new shares and now holds a 5.23% of the company’s enlarged share capital. Tasty added that the positive start to the year it had made since revealing its preliminary results on 29 April had continued. The company said it had also exchanged contracts on a property in Chelmsford and it would be converting its Dim T site in Gloucester Road, London, into a Wildwood.
