Jom Makan, the Malaysian restaurant chain, is set to open its third restaurant in three years at Loughborough University later this month.
Located in the newly refurbished Students’ Union, the Loughborough Jom Makan features its first counter service that will serve freshly prepared hot meals, snacks, salads, wraps and smoothies.
The new site is also set to be on hand for Olympic hopefuls from Britain and Japan stationed at the University during the 2012 London Olympic Games to train at Loughborough’s sports facilities.
Jom Makan owns two other outlets, one in the Westfield shopping centre in London, opened last year, and one in Pall Mall, opened 2008.
It will offer halal meals not only to students but also to the large Muslim community and general public in Nottingham, Leicestershire as well as Loughborough areas.
