Hooters, the American restaurant chain, is being sued by the parents of a 19-year-old who died after crashing his car while drink driving after a visit to a Hooters in Florida.

The lawsuit claims that Christopher John Fugate's death was caused by employees of the restaurant chain who "turned a blind eye" when he left the restaurant three times over the blood-alcohol limit.

Debbie Fugate, the boy's mother, said: "This is not about who we are. It's about preventing other parents from going through this. That's what we want to do."
