Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK), the Capricorn Ventures-backed group, has appointed Gerard Carolan as its new finance director.
Carolan joins the 60-strong group from Yum! Brands where he has been the financial controller of Pizza Hut (UK) for 16 years covering the many changes in that organisation during that time.
Prior to being at Yum!, Gerard qualified as a chartered accountant in Dublin before joining Ernst & Young for 10 years working in both the UK and US on a variety of complex assignments.
His appointment follows Nicholas Wong’s departure from to join The Fulham Shore plc, the David Page-led vehicle, as finance director.
GBK recently strengthened its long-term pipeline by securing three openings for 2015/2016.
M&C Report understands that the group has signed on units in Newport’s Queensbury Scheme, Stoke’s intu development and at Bracknell L&G development.
The company plans up to 10 new openings for 2014.
