Franco Manca, the pizza chain led by David Page, the former chief executive of Pizza Express, and Italian chef Giuseppe Mascoli, has opened its seventh site and has a further three in the pipeline for openings in the capital this year.

The group opened in Broadway Market yesterday and recently secured the Couscous site in Old Brompton Road, South Kensington, for an opening this autumn.

The company has sites in Lordship Lane and Bermondsey lined up for opening this summer and is believed to be in talks on a further unit in Southfields.

It is also looking at taking the brand to places like Venice, Crete and Athens under a franchise/joint venture agreement.

Franco Manca is a Neapolitan Pizzeria, specialising in sourdough pizzas baked in a traditional wood-burning brick oven. There are currently five Franco Manca restaurants in Brixton, Chiswick, Clapham, Balham, Tottenham Court Road and Stratford.
