Foodco, the café chain specialist, has set out plans to grow its 45-strong Muffin Break brand passed the 100 mark in the UK by the end of 2014, while also announcing it has signed an agreement to launch the concept in India.

The company, which is led by managing director Serge Infanti, plans to open a further 15 sites in the UK this year, with a further 40 openings planned for the following two years. The majority of the sites are run under franchise.

The group has signed a regional licence agreement with the South Asian Food & Hospitality (SAFH) group, which gives the New Delhi-based company the master rights to operate Muffin Break in India.

The first site under the agreement is set to open in August this year in South Delhi.

The group currently operates 259 sites worldwide, including 178 in Australia and 36 in New Zealand.

The group also plans to launch is Jamaica Blue coffee brand in Singapore, plus further expansion in China and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It currently operates 71 Jamaica Blue sites in Australia, five in New Zealand, 15 in China and three in the UAE.
