Filmore & Union, the independent café and deli chain, has added a further two sites to its estate after securing funding from Natwest.

The Yorkshire-based six-strong group, which was founded two years ago by Adele Ashley and her nephew Will Pugh, secured £175k to fund the opening of restaurants in the Victoria Quarter in Leeds city centre next to Harvey Nicholls, and one at the city’s Moortown Corner.

Adele Ashley expects turnover to increase to £3.5m in 2014 and has just won a tender to set up at Newcastle train station.

The duo also run a restaurant in Wetherby, a deli in Harrogate, a kiosk at York Train Station and a restaurant in Low Petergate, York.

NatWest provided the business with a loan as part of the Government’s Funding for Lending Scheme.
