Cilantro, the Egyptian coffee chain, is set to launch in the UK with the opening of its first outlet in London’s Piccadilly Circus. The group has acquired a 1,000sq ft site on the south side of Piccadilly, which formerly traded as the independently owned Cinq café. The company, which currently has over 20 stores throughout Egypt, is owned by Hesham El-Sewedy, who also heads the restaurant group El-Sewedy Foods. El-Sewedy bought Delicious, the company that developed the Cilantro brand, in 2005 and has since more than doubled the number of outlets. DCL handled the deal.
