Earl of Sandwich, the restaurant concept founded by the current Earl of Sandwich, his younger son Orlando Montagu, and Robert Earl, founder of Planet Hollywood, will open its first UK site this month near London’s St Paul’s Cathedral, M&C Report understands.
The restaurant will open on the former Fresh Italy site on 19 April and is expected to be the first of several opened by the company in the capital over the next 12 months.
It is thought that Alex Garland, who has worked at Planet Hollywood London, will oversee the roll out of the business in the UK as operations director.
The group recently opened its first European site in Disneyland Paris.
There are currently 13 restaurants operating under the brand in the US, including in the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Earlier this year, Planet Hollywood founder Earl teamed up with Village Hotels to bring his Italian restaurant chain Buca di Beppo to the UK.
The first outlet opened at the 157-bedroom Village Hotel in Newcastle in February.
