Jonathan Downey’s Dinerama will reopen this weekend, but faces the likelihood of closing for good after 26 September, having failed to agree a deal with the landlord.

The pioneering street food market in Shoreditch will reopen Fridays and Saturdays from 5pm-midnight, with reduced capacity, four bars and seven traders, including two new ones.

Downey’s bar Milk & Honey, which he has run in Soho for 18 years, faces a similar fate, he said.

Writing on his Hospitality Union group, he said: “Anyone else announcing that they’re re-opening but only for a few weeks until the end of September, when they’ll be closing for good because they can’t agree a rent deal?

“I’ve just done this for the best business I’ve ever been in involved with, Dinerama in Shoreditch, and the longest running will be next - Milk & Honey, 18 years in Soho.”

Downey’s Street Feast also runs currently closed Giant Robot in Canary Wharf and Hawker House in Canada Water, which is open for events only.
