London-based wine bar operator Davy’s has appointed Simon Gaske, who has previously helped with marketing for a number of high-profile leisure groups, to the new position of head of sales and marketing.

The position has been introduced “to drive the pre-booked sales, digital marketing, customer reward and online merchant sales”, Davy’s said. 

Gaske said: “Previously working on my own business, the Thorny Devil - Events & Marketing, with great companies such as Drake & Morgan, SA Brain, the Draft House and Browns Bar and Brasserie, gave me a wonderful insight into customer feedback and behaviour, which is fundamental when planning a marketing strategy.

“It’s exciting times ahead with Davy’s, such an amazing heritage, product and platform, not to mention amazing wines. I can’t wait to get started.”

It follows the appointment of Sarah Weir, formerly of Bramwell, to the position of operations director. She said: “I am delighted Simon has chosen to join Davy’s. His experience is wide ranging and knowledge of the London market and customers will be a huge asset for building on our already strong customer position, and very positive sales”
