Street food pizza concept Crust Bros has secured its first bricks and mortar site in Waterloo, MCA has learnt.
The new restaurant site, which is due to open in six to eight weeks, is opposite Waterloo train station, has takeaway and dine-in, with 50 covers, and will be open until midnight.
The concept has been trading at street food markets and from a pop-up shipping container on Southbank.
Crust Bros has also been working with Deliveroo since chief executive Will Shu tried their pizza and invited them to join the platform, and has been operating out of a Deliveroo Editions dark kitchen in Camberwell for the last four months and hopes to join the line-up at other Editions sites.
Founder Joseph Moore said the pizza was done in the authentic Neapolitan style, with high quality imported ingredients and sourdough bases, though customers are given the option to customise their own toppings.
Moore said: “Our history is around Waterloo, we’ve trading around here and Southbank for three years now. Bang opposite the train station, we know people love pizza and can take it onto the train with them.
He added: “Certainly we’re looking to do more Dliveroo sites, we’re in talks at the moment. We think the more people try our pizzas, the more people will love it. It’s good more promotion but it makes commercial sense as well if we hit our targets.
“Judging how well Waterloo goes, we also want to open more bricks and mortar sites as well.”
