Cooks the Bakery, the West Midlands-based bakery and coffee shop chain, which once operated an estate of 120 sites, has been paced into administration. The company, which is led managing director Richard Prime, was placed into administration with just 16 sites, after a number of sites were sold over the last few years to pay down debt. M&C Report understands that the rising cost of raw materials and increasing rents finally pushed the company into administration. Of the remaining 16 sites, eight have been closed, while buyers are being sought for other eight, which are spread across the Midlands and the South of England and continue to trade. Cameron Gunn, Mark Supperstone and Simon Harris of ReSolve Partners LLP have been appointed as joint administrators.
